GTA V is finally getting E&E version as Rockstar Games announced it will be released on March 15, 2022, for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Before that happens, the fans will be able to preload the game from March 8, 2022.
With this information out of the way and the release so close, one would think there would be a price tag by now but that is not the case. Rockstar will likely keep it secret until the actual preloads begin and people can purchase the upgraded version. PS5 owners won’t have to bother with the pricing if they get E&E immediately since it will be free to keep on their platform for a limited time.
The introduction of E&E will also allow fans to purchase the standalone version of GTA Online, meaning they won’t have to get the story mode and pay the full price if they don’t want to. Wording on the announcement hints that this option will be exclusive to next-gen consoles, at least initially but it remains to be seen how Rockstar will handle it in the future.
If PC players don’t get the cheaper option of just buying the Online portion of the game, it’s likely because of the rampant mods, which is just a fancy name for GTAO cheats.
Providing a cheap way of getting back into the game after a hypothetical ban would just mean a fertile ground for cheaters.
